Stronghoof Hoofstrong is a Jarl of the Deerfolk in Reine City, Velvet's father and Cashmere's uncle. He makes a brief appearance in Chapter 1 of Story Mode. Alongside him is a Winter Sprite named Vetr.

He's the second of four DLC fighters in the game's Season 1 Pass.

Appearance[]

Stronghoof is a huge buck with a light grey coat, darker brown thick cloven hooves and marking on his back, pale chest and tail floof, underbelly, nose and stripe on the ear. On his head are massive dark brown antlers with rings on them. He has two braids hanging from his floof, thick dark brown eyebrows, and amber eyes.

Personality[]

Unlike the rest of Deerfolk, Stronghoof is shown to be more humble, polite and friendly when talking to strangers, even if they're not reindeer. As a seasoned warrior, he loves battle. During combat, he's flamboyant, but will always admire a worthy opponent.

During Part II of Chapter 1, Stronghoof can be seen surrounded by other Deerfolk, fawning over him. Arizona can find and speak with him in Reine City, where he will judge her strength and bravery based on how many predators she has defeated up to that point. He will reward Arizona with the Heroic Headband if she has eliminated all of the predators in the Abandoned Salt Mines in Part I, or cleared out the Haunted Undercity during Part II.

Development History[]

Stronghoof, along with his homestage, was revealed as a second DLC character of the game's Season 1 Pass on closing ceremony during Frosty Faustings XV on the 4th of February, 2023. He was released on April 12, 2023.[1]

Trivia[]

  • One of the Velvet color palettes named "Strong Hoof" is based off of his coloring. The palette was in the game before Stronghoof's name was officially revealed.
    • In comparison to original colors, the coat is slightly darker in tone and has more grey hue to it.
  • The jewelry and rings decorating his antlers are a sign of marriage.
  • "Stronghoof" is a title granted to warriors achieving victories for Reine City. It's unknown what his original name was prior to it.
  • Prior to becoming a playable character, he used to have a different, more complex design, specifically the antlers. He was redesigned to become more fit as a fighting character.
